Q. What does the Mole mapping service involve?
A. The mole specialist will take a full medical history to identify your risk profile. You will then have mole mapping in our body studio booth which uses a special microscope called a dermatoscope and a digital camera to analyse and record an image of every mole. Your image and a detailed clinical history will then be assessed by your skin specialist doctor and you will receive a Mole Mapping report Clinic Report with further advice if treatment and follow-up is recommended
Your skin specialist will decide whether your mole is sufficiently suspect to require treatment, which usually means excision and biopsy as a precaution, or whether you can simply keep the mole under observation.
