How our Micro-needling treatment works

Nuriss London medical dermaroller and dermastamp treatments work by positioning microscopic needles over the skin. Tiny injuries are produced in the top layer of the skin, known as the dermis, causing the skin to repair itself by producing more collagen, generating more elastin, forming new skin cells and enhancing blood supply – essentially stimulating the skin to regenerate at a deeper dermal level.

Each treatment takes between 20 and 30 minutes. Nuriss expert skincare specialists use Dermastamp Microneedling, which is the quickest and most comfortable form of dermaroller treatments. A topical numbing cream is also applied to the skin to ensure that the treatment is effectively pain-free. Nuriss has also designed a bespoke program, which combines the dermaroller treatment with a rejuvenating and nourishing mesotherapy treatment.

Directly following the procedure, there might be a slight redness and sensitivity to the skin, however, this will subside within 48 hours. Visible results can be seen four to six weeks after your first treatment, and over the coming months, as you continue the treatments, your skin will continue to improve, feeling hydrated and rejuvenated, with a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

Nuriss Dermaroller treatments in London improve the appearance of the skin, particularly for the following issues:

  • Fine line and wrinkles
  • Sun Damage
  • Stretch Marks
  • Acne Scars

Nuriss offers customers some of the best prices for dermaroller treatments in London. Despite our derma stamp treatment being one of the most advanced, natural and comfortable skin rejuvenation procedures available in the city, it is also one of the cheapest. The cost of dermaroller therapy at Nuriss varies depending on each patient’s particular skincare needs and the area being treated. This will be discussed during your initial in-depth consultation with one of our expertly-trained skincare specialists. Derma stamp skin needling treatments start from as little as £350.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is dermaroller?

Nuriss Dermaroller treatment is an advanced skin needling treatment that stimulates and regenerates the skin so that it appears more youthful. Your skincare consultant will use the derma stamp, which is the quickest and most comfortable form of dermaroller available in London, to roll microscopic needles over the skin. This will result in thousands of tiny needle-columns being produced in the skin. These columns repair quickly, so you’ll barely even notice they’re there. The reparation encourages regeneration below the skin’s surface in the dermis. Your skin will be left feeling more youthful and hydrated, with a visible reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage and scarring.

Does dermaroller work?

Dermaroller is the most advanced and natural form of skin regenerating medical-grade microneedling therapy available today. At Nuriss, we use the Dermastamp, which is an advanced dermaroller that ensures fast, comfortable and painless treatments. Patients enjoy a reduction in the signs of aging, with skin appearing more youthful, regenerated and refreshed. While results vary from patient to patient, if you avail of the course of treatments recommended by your skincare consultant, you will see impressive visible results.

What skin problems does dermaroller treat?

Dermaroller can treat a whole host of skin conditions in the quickest and most natural way possible. It can treat fine lines and wrinkles around the face and décolletage areas, reduce scarring, repair sun damage and diminish stretch marks. Whether you have hyperpigmentation, acne scars, wrinkles or stretch marks, your skin consultant will recommend the most effective course of treatments possible for you. Following your recommended course of treatments, not only will your problem areas be significantly reduced, but because new skin cells are formed during the process, your pores will tighten and the skin will appear healthier and more youthful.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is what occurs during the dermaroller procedure. A dermaroller is basically a microneedle roller that rolls microscopic needles over the skin. It may sound intimidating, but at Nuriss London clinic, we only use medical-grade skin needling equipment, and all our treatments are carried out by highly-skilled skincare experts, meaning they are safe and effective. In fact, the Dermastamp is the most advanced and comfortable form of derma roller treatment out there. The microscopic needles used during the micro needling process stimulate the surface of the skin and penetrate into the dermis. This encourages natural collagen regeneration and elastin generation, forming new skin cells and enhancing blood supply, which results in rejuvenated, radiant skin for long-term results.

When will I see results?

Immediately after your derma roller treatment, you may experience redness and slight sensitivity; you may even appear to have sunburn. However, these side effects will subside within a few hours of each session and your skin will only appear slightly red the following day. Any redness you do experience should disappear completely within 48 hours. It can take several weeks to see visible results on the skin as the regeneration and reparation is a continuous process. Dramatic results will only be seen after several months, if you follow the course of treatments your skincare consultant advises during your initial consultation. For optimum results, it is recommended that each treatment is six weeks apart.

How long will the results last?

The results of Nuriss dermaroller treatments are permanent. The microneedle roller used in the treatment stimulates skin to repair and regenerate, so that it cannot revert back to its pre-treatment state after you obtain the desired results from your course. However, in the case of fine lines and wrinkles, it cannot prevent the aging process. So, while microneedling can dramatically reduce the presence of fine lines and wrinkles around the face and décolletage, it will not prevent these lines from forming in these areas again in the future.

How many treatments do I need?

The number of dermaroller treatments you need is entirely dependent on your specific skin problem and its severity. You will have an in-depth consultation with our expert skin therapist before your treatment begins. They will identify problem areas and tailor a course of treatments for your particular needs. For straightforward skin rejuvenation, three treatments are usually recommended. For the treatment of more stubborn skin issues, such as acne scarring and stretch marks, up to five or six treatments will be required, with about six weeks between each session. In some cases your skincare consultant may recommend a home skin care treatment before the dermaroller treatment begins, in order to prepare the skin and ensure best results.

Our dermaroller treatment costs are extremely competitive, meaning you will always receive great value in a luxurious central London setting.

Do dermaroller treatments hurt?

Our derma stamp dermaroller treatments are the most comfortable form of microneedling therapy available in London. The advanced derma roller we use ensures that the procedure is as painless for the patient as possible. To further ensure your comfort, your skin consultant will apply a topical anaesthetic numbing cream to your skin. Your therapist will also talk you through what is involved in the procedure, so that you feel comfortable during your skin needling treatment.

How long does each treatment take?

The length of time your dermaroller treatment takes will depend on your particular skin issues and the treatment area. Each session typically takes between 20 and 30 minutes.

What will I look like straight after each treatment?

After each treatment your skin will be slightly red – a bit like sunburn – and it may feel a little sensitive, warm and tight. The initial redness will subside within a few hours, however it might still be slightly red the following day. Your skin will have completely recovered within 48 hours.

Will I have to do any post-treatment care at home?

Your skincare consultant will advise you on any necessary post-treatment care based on what specific skin issues you’re being treated for. Generally we advise patients to use aloe vera gel to soothe and calm the treated areas. We encourage all derma roller treated patients to only cleanse the face with tepid water until the redness has subsided and always make sure your hands are clean before touching your skin. After each treatment, you should protect your skin with a strong UVA/UVB sunscreen.

How long do I have to wait between treatments?

For optimum results, it is recommended that you wait approximately six weeks between dermastamp treatments. Your skincare therapist will discuss this with you during your initial consultation.

Are there any derma roller side effects?

The likelihood of experiencing any side effects from Nuriss advanced Dermastamp treatment is extremely slim. In fact, because dermarollers do not damage or remove any layers of skin, infections and complications following the procedure rarely occur. If you make sure to follow your skincare consultant’s advice regarding your post treatment care, any chance of derma roller side effects or infection is made even more unlikely. Following treatment, you will experience slight redness to the skin, however this is normal and will subside within 48 hours. To avoid side effects from our dermaroller treatments, make sure to avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours, apply a cooling aloe vera gel to the skin, rinse your face with tepid water and make sure you wear a strong sunscreen.

Can you treat dark and tanned skin?

Nuriss dermastamp dermaroller treatment is the most advanced form of microneedling treatment available in London, and is suitable for all skin colours and tones, even darker and tanned skin. The procedure stimulates natural healing, regeneration and rejuvenation in the skin, making it suitable for all skin types.

Dermarollers are “non-ablative”, meaning they do not destroy skin tissues during the mircroneedling procedure. Ablative skin treatments that do destroy and remove skin during the procedure can cause lasting damage to tanned, olive and darker skin tones because there is more melanin present in the skin.

With our advanced, all-natural, non-ablative dermaroller treatment, there is little risk of any side effects occurring on darker skin tones.

Is dermaroller suitable for men?

Of course! We treat plenty of men with skin problems and conditions they want to rectify, including acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage and stretch marks. Our derma roller treatments work on both men and women.

Can I wear make-up after dermaroller treatment?

We recommend that you avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Your skincare therapist will advise you on the most suitable post-treatment care routine for your needs, which will include soothing the skin by applying an aloe vera gel and wearing a strong UVA/UVB sunscreen for optimum skin protection.

Are dermaroller treatments different on the face and body?

Whether you’re being treated for skin problems on the face or on the body, the dermaroller process is largely the same. The only difference is the size of the needles. The dermaroller used for body treatments has slightly bigger needles than the microneedles used on the face. This allows for thicker skin to be penetrated, ensuring stimulation occurs below the skin’s surface in the dermis. In both cases, your skin consultant will talk you through the procedure beforehand, and apply a topical numbing cream to the skin for optimal comfort. Once the skin is numb, which can take up to an hour, your consultant will roll the microneedle roller over the skin, causing microscopic injuries on the surface. This in turn causes the skin to repair and rejuvenate on a deeper dermal level, producing more collagen and causing new skin cells to form, eventually leaving the skin on both the body and face visibly nourished, fresh and youthful.
