Which peel is right for me?

We offer a range of skin peels that vary in strength and our team of experienced doctors, nurses and practitioners can tailor
a skin peel specifically to your skin type, condition and tone.

Glycolic Acid Peel

A glycolic acid peel is a popular treatment that can reverse the damage of stress and your environment. Glycolic acid is a natural fruit acid that is derived from sugar cane. It is one of the safest alpha hydroxyl acids. It works as an exfoliator to gently remove dead skin cells on the surface of the skin so that healthy, fresh cells can surface. It can also help lighten discolouration in the skin, including sunspots, and can be used to exfoliate acne-prone skin. We often combine our glycolic peels with a high-strength vitamin C antioxidants treatment to protect and repair the skin, pampering and nourishing it, and leaving you with a radiant complexion.

Our glycolic peels require preparation prior to treatment. This means using the Nuriss Fruit Acid Renewal Gel for at least two weeks prior to treatment. This will maximise treatment results.

Salicylic Acid Peel

Salicylic acid peels are particularly good for acne sufferers, because they unclog pores and fight breakouts. Nuriss uses salicylic acid in our Alpha Beta Renewal Peel, which is perfect for acne-prone patients and those with oily skin, uneven skin tones, and fine lines. It is also used in our Beautiful Back Peel, which fights back blemishes and outbreaks.

Our salicylic acid peels require preparation prior to treatment. This includes using Nuriss Fruit Acid Renewal Gel for at least two weeks prior to treatment. This will maximise treatment results.

Pyruvic Acid Peel

Suitable for those who feel their skin is ageing, or prone to outbreaks, a pyruvic peel contains a naturally occurring acid that penetrates deep into the skin. The peel stimulates collagen and elastin production, as well as gently exfoliating the skin to make it appear tighter and clearer.

Our pyruvic acid peels require preparation prior to treatment – using the Nuriss Fruit Acid Renewal Gel for at least two weeks prior to treatment. This will maximise treatment results.

Lactic Acid Peel

This popular facial treatment has been inspired by the natural beauty techniques from ancient Egypt to turn back the clock and brighten dull skin. Cleopatra bathed her skin in sour milk, a source of lactic acid. Our modern Cleopatra Glow Peel combines lactic acid, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), and other anti-ageing ingredients to hydrate the skin, and improve its tone and texture. This reduces fine lines and pigmentation, leaving you with younger-looking skin.

Jessner’s Peel

A Jessner’s Peel is a moderate skin peel that uses a combination of ingredients to smooth and rejuvenate skin. A Jessner’s Peel is excellent for all skin types. It is effective in treating mild to severe acne, discolouration, moderate wrinkling and sun damage.

TCA Peel

A TCA Peel is a skin peel that successfully treats sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and acne scarring. This type of skin peel sloughs off the upper layers of the skin, eliminating superficial wrinkles, smoothing rough patches, and removing spots and pigmentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is alpha hydroxy acid?

Alpha hydroxyl acids are used in a number of Nuriss specialty chemical skin peels. They are used to treat a variety of skin conditions and issues, with similar results to microdermabrasion treatments. Alpha hydroxyl acids are naturally found in foods, including fruits, sugar cane, and milk, and work by nourishing the skin and reducing wrinkles, fine lines and dullness.

What is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA)?

Beta hydroxy acids are more commonly known as BHAs. The main difference between AHAs and BHAs is oil solubility. AHAs are water soluble only, while BHAs are oil soluble. This means BHAs get down into the pores to cut through the oil that’s clogging them. They also have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so BHAs are perfect for treating acne-prone and oily skin. The most common BHA in skincare products is salicylic acid, which occurs naturally in willow bark and sweet birch. Like AHAs, BHAs make your skin more vulnerable to damage from the sun, so your skin practitioner will advise you of SPF protection and protective skincare to use before and after your treatments.

What is a salicylic acid peel?

Salicylic acid peels are particularly good for acne sufferers, because they unclog pores and fight breakouts. Nuriss uses salicylic acid in the Alpha Beta Renewal Peel, which is perfect for acne-prone patients, oily skin, uneven skin tones and fine lines. It is also used in the Beautiful Back Peel, which fights back blemishes.

Are chemical skin peels suitable for men?

Absolutely! Our chemical peels and facial treatments work great for both men and women. We also have a fantastic peel specifically designed for men’s skin, called the Power Peel for Men. It uses a strong formula of healthy vitamin A and vitamin C antioxidants to get rid of dulling dead skin cells, fight inflammation, hydrate the skin, and reduce pimples.

Can you have chemical peels on your body?

Nuriss has a particularly beneficial back peel for people with spot-prone backs. It targets back blemishes with a nourishing blend of salicylic acid, phytonutrients and hydrating antioxidants.

What is a Glycolic Acid Peel?

Our Nuriss Glycolic acid peel is a popular anti-ageing treatment that can reverse the damage of stress and long hours of work. It can also help lighten discolouration in the skin, including sunspots, as well exfoliating acne-prone skin. Nuriss Workaholics Wonder Peel is a powerful glycolic peel that uses high-strength vitamin C antioxidants to protect and repair the skin, pampering and nourishing it, and leaving you with a radiant complexion. If you think a glycolic acid peel is the best option to address your concerns, your skincare specialist at Nuriss will be happy to perform a skin analysis on you and discuss this treatment option in depth.

What is Glycolic Acid?

This natural and powerful skincare ingredient is derived from sugar cane and is one of the safest alpha hydroxyl acids. It works as an exfoliator to gently remove dead skin cells on the surface of the skin so that healthy, fresh ones can surface.

Is a chemical peel the right choice for you?

We have a range of chemical peels and facial treatments to suit all sorts of skin conditions and types, including rosacea, acne, premature ageing, wrinkles, dullness and uneven tones and textures. Our treatments include an in-depth consultation with one of our expert skincare therapists, who will perform a skin analysis and full medical history check, prior to determining the best peel or treatment option to suit your needs.

What is a chemical peel?

Nuriss range of chemical peels is ideal for patients who want to reduce sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, dullness, uneven pigmentation, acne, rough skin or wrinkles. They work by removing damaged outer layers of skin to encourage natural regeneration of healthier skin from deep within the layers. A powerful solution of fast-acting chemicals, such as hydroxy acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid, is applied to the skin to treat a number of different conditions, including acne, dryness and wrinkles. A chemical peel simply removes a layer of damaged skin from the face to reveal a newer, healthier layer. The applied chemical solution causes trauma to the epidermis of the skin, which causes the outer layers to peel away. When the skin begins to heal, increased cell growth produces new, healthier skin layers that give the face a more youthful appearance.

There is a range of peels and facial treatments to suit different skin problems and skin types. During your consultation, our highly skilled skincare experts will discuss the best treatment plan to suit your needs.

Does the brand of the peel matter?

Yes. Different brands use varied formulations. At Nuriss Clinics, we work closely with Nuriss Skincare and Glo Therapeutics to provide our patients with the best skin treatment available. We feel it is important to work with brands that follow our safe skin ethos and who continue to remain up to date with new and innovative ingredients.

How do I achieve the best results from my peel?

It is imperative to use the correct skincare products at home, before, during and after your treatment, to clear away debris and reduce the downtime after your peel. Home care regimes vary depending on your skin type and concern. Your skin expert will advise you as to which products will enable you to obtain the best results from your treatments. The amount of treatments needed varies on the type of peel and the concern. On average, 4-6 peels are needed at 3-4 weekly intervals.

How much does a chemical skin peel cost?

Our chemical peel prices start at £100. This includes an in-depth skin analysis and consultation. Prices vary depending on skin types and conditions but are very competitive for central London and the UK. Call our friendly bookings team to find out more.

Are chemical peels suitable for sensitive skin?

Nuriss has a number of chemical peels and facial treatments that are suitable for all different skin types and conditions. Some treatments are suitable for sensitive skin while others are not. That’s why we offer a full in-depth skin analysis and check your medical history to uncover each patient’s skin type and main skin problems. That way your experienced skincare therapists can recommend the best treatment options to suit your individual needs.
