Does Red Wine Really Help Cellulite?
Red wine can be a real rescue remedy when you get home from a long and stressful day at work. Of course, red wine is the best alcohol to drink for a healthy heart however, what if I was to tell you that red wine is also amazing for helping prevent and reduce cellulite?
Yes ladies, it is TRUE!
Cellulite rears its ugly head when fat deposits underneath the skin, push their way through the connective tissues. Your skin begins to look dimpled and can be compared to the skin of an orange, it can be extremely hard to get rid of and can make you feel uncomfortable with the way you look.  There are many causes of cellulite, these include; excess weight gain or loss, circulation problems, slow lymphatic system, fluid retention, your genes, hormone imbalance and even stress can be a huge factor towards the development of cellulite.
Red wine is packed full of antioxidants, these include flavonoids and resveratrol. Resveratrol is the antioxidant which gives red wine, its full bodied red colour. Resveratrol has a huge range of health benefits to offer, however it is most effective in preventing and reducing cellulite.
Your skin is made up of many things, including a protein called collagen. Collage keeps your skin looking fresh, tight and hydrated. Resveratrol is extremely effective in blocking the two enzymes that promote the breakdown of collagen. By preventing the collagen from breaking down, you are stopping the fat deposits from protruding through the skin.
Additionally, both men and women produce a hormone called oestrogen. Oestrogen can also lead to the breakdown of the collagen in the skin and therefore cause cellulite. The antioxidants within the red wine can help to lower the levels of oestrogen within the body.
Red wine has many additional benefits, these include; preventing heart damage and disease, can reduce your risk of blood clots and general inflammation, increases your levels of good cholesterol and can even reduce the levels of bad cholesterol in your body. So all in all, red wine is great for you, in moderation.
If however, red wine is not working for you, then there are other treatments available to help reduce cellulite. One treatment available is the ‘Nuriss Cellulite Fade-away Treatment’. Our very own Dr Anita says; “At Nuriss, we use an advanced non-surgical fat reducing procedure, which not only remove stubborn fat but also simultaneously tightens loose skin and firms the body”. Dr Anita continues; “Amazingly a course of treatments can significantly reduce cellulite in problem areas”.
